Vancouver fashion designer Amanda Ventura, creator of Vouture clothing has released her first fall 2010 collection. Inspired by Greek mythology, Vouture's first season follows the story of Persephone (Goddess of Seasons).
Amanda has studied fashion design for the past eight years, all the while preparing for owning her own business. She made the transition from fashion student to designer by attending Vancouver Community college's Fashion Design Program in September of 2007. As well as volunteering in film shorts and commercials such as: "The Perfect Woman", and "Moon Man".
While attending VCC, Amanda participated in many extra-curricular activities, such as designing for major events such as: The 2009 Miss Canada Competition, The 2009 Special Olympics Charity Fashion Show, and the 2009 Juno Awards.
In the upcoming year, Amanda plans to intern with high-end fashion designer Anna Sui, and show her collection in a few soon- to-be announced fashion shows this upcoming spring. Among these events she plans on featuring her work in Portobello West, Morrison Productions, and a few local magazine's such as: Ion, String, and Ezine.
